The Cuillins is a conveniently located modern house in the attractive residential area of North Kessock, just a few minutes' drive over the Kessock Bridge from the Highland capital of Inverness. This well-equipped and comfortable house enjoys views across the Beauly Firth to Inverness and the hills beyond. Situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, children can play safely and there is no passing traffic. The garden to the rear offers views across the Firth to Inverness. It is ideal in offering easy city centre access without having to be right in the city.
The village has a café, restaurant, an excellent fish supper shop, a grocery store and play park. There is a Tesco Extra store, Vue Cinema and a retail park just a 10-minute drive away.
The Kessock Bridge is the gateway to the Northern Highlands, an area of outstanding beauty which encompasses mountains, lochs, glens and fabulous beaches. The whole of the Northern Highlands can be explored using North Kessock as a base, or, alternatively, head on through Inverness and down Loch Ness, Scotland's deepest freshwater loch and home to 'Nessie'!
Inverness itself is a vibrant city with good restaurants, theatres and cinemas. The airport is a 15-minute drive from the house and is well served from several major UK airports.
The water below North Kessock, the Beauly Firth, is home to resident groups of bottlenose dolphins and grey seals, and just above the house is the Dolphin and Seal Centre where you can listen to these wonderful animals by hydrophone.
North Kessock is situated at the most south-westerly point of the Black Isle, which is a popular tourist location with sandy beaches, golf courses, quaint fishing villages, boat trips and a terrific mountain biking facility at Red Rock, Learnie. There is a small animal wildlife park which is great for younger children, and several horse riding centres.
The historic villages of Fortrose and Rosemarkie have several excellent eating places and a unique Pictish Museum that is well worth a visit before exploring the rich archaeological remains in the area.
Cromarty, 15 miles to the north-west, is also a great place to visit and explore.
Ullapool is one and a quarter hour's drive to the west for those who wish to see the magnificent west coast mountains, or to take a trip out to the Summer Isles just off shore.
