Strathconon is a secluded Highland glen that feels quite remote, yet is only one hour from Inverness airport and an equal distance from Ullapool. Scatwell Coach House is a traditional, cosy, self-catering cottage nestled in this glen. It is a semi-detached property built in the late 1800s and was recently renovated and completely refurbished.
The three log fires - one in the sitting room, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom - make it the perfect winter hideaway in the hills! You can watch the deer wandering around outside at most times of the year. In spring, the glen comes to life as the flowers emerge and the banks are cloaked in primroses, wild garlic, wild daffodils and bluebells.
The birdlife is profuse and varied, from woodland species to the high ground birds of prey.
From the cottage, it is possible to set off for day-long walks through the glen and up into the hills beyond and not see a soul all day.
We highly recommend this property for a truly peaceful and relaxing break.
Please note: Those with children should be aware that there is a large pond opposite the house, and although this does not form part of the cottage grounds, it is not fenced off and therefore could pose a risk. There is a picture of this pond at the end of the listing. The cottage has its own private garden close by.
