Steading Cottage is situated in the beautiful surroundings of Glebe House and is just seven miles from the sandy beaches of Spey Bay and Lossiemouth.
The cottage has recently been renovated and now offers a high standard of self-catering accommodation for up to five guests in an extremely tranquil, private and relaxing setting.
The conversion of this former steading has cleverly retained the atmosphere of the former 1820's building, with stable doors, deep-set windows and characterful small details.
The interior design has been sensitively done in order to enhance the charm of this property and to emphasise its coastal location in the choice of colour.
The cottage is not overlooked by any other property, and is surrounded by a mature garden which has strategically placed seats to best enjoy the views. Although the garden is not enclosed, the cottage is not near the road so it is relatively safe for children.
Adjacent to the house is an organic farm which, in 2010, will house organic, free range pigs. It is possible to watch the pigs and their young in the adjoining fields which will be of interest to children and adults, alike.
The area is one which is renowned for excellent fishing and golf, but what is less known is the sheer wealth of birdlife and wildlife that can be seen in the woodlands and fields surrounding the cottage. There are extensive woodlands to walk in and, as the house is on the sea-side of the A96, it is ideal for long walks to the coast for a really good day out.
There are many exceptionally good restaurants and other eating places in the surrounding villages, and Elgin is just a 10-minute drive away.
The beaches are sandy and great for children, and from Spey Bay you can take a boat trip out to see the Moray Firth dolphins.
With the River Spey just a 5-minute drive away, and the Lossie not much further, fishing can be the focus of a holiday at this house. Alternatively, golfers could fill a week just trying all the different courses within a half-hour drive.
For those who just want to unwind with a good book amid total tranquillity, Steading Cottage is ideal!
