Acharn lies in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, near Killin, Perthshire, and Beech Cottage is one of the seven Acharn holiday cottages which form a secluded courtyard, and which has been tastefully and thoughtfully equipped and decorated. There are also two log cabins more privately positioned. See the Acharn Courtyard web page for details about renting one, some or all of the cottages.

Acharn offers a superb shared games/social room where evenings can be spent enjoying the company of friends both old and new: there is an indoor gas barbecue, wood burning stove and 'stock your own' bar. As this room is completely separate from the cottages, it causes no disturbance to those who seek peace and quiet.

The whole venture has been created with activity and comfort in mind; so, within the grounds, and for use by all the tenants, are a superb tennis court, a children's playground, and both river and pond fishing. The fishing ponds are peaceful and tranquil areas to sit and picnic, and the surrounding hills and woods can be explored right from the cottage.

Killin is a picturesque Highland village at the western end of Loch Tay and is just a 10-minute walk away: here you will find spectacular waterfalls, a Folk Museum, pub, café, restaurant and shops.

The area offers several water-based activities, all levels of walking and climbing, mountain bike trails in the forests, and excellent cycling on the roads in the small glens.

All in all, this is a very special part of Scotland, steeped in historical sites and visitor centres, and with a wealth of activities for all ages.
