Locally regarded as occupying one of the most beautiful positions on the island, Kellan Mill offers a wonderfully comfortable holiday house for up to seven people.
The house has been a family home for many years and has the atmosphere of comfort and charm associated with being loved and cared for.
This is a former 19th-century mill that has been beautifully restored to create a romantic cottage with the feel of a 'hobbit house'! Entering through a beautiful, arched, wooden door, you arrive in a flagged entrance hall with small church-style windows and beamed ceiling. Below is the main living area and above are bedrooms - all enjoying the most panoramic views of the sea and Ben More. The dining table has been fashioned from the original millstone and seats seven people comfortably - being positioned in the bay of the sun room with its spectacular sea views, meals are set to become lengthy affairs!
Sitting on the seashore overlooking Loch Na Keal and over to Ben More (the only Munro on Mull) the house has stunning views, and being sited on the shore-side of a quiet road, means children can wander down to the shore from the house.
The west coast of Mull is especially attractive and is well worth exploration, from the Ross of Mull in the south with its spectacularly pink granite rocks, to the sparkling white sands of Calgary Beach in the north.
The Isle of Ulva can be visited for a day, where an exhilarating walk around this car-free island can be finished off at the Boathouse Café where you can enjoy a plate of local oysters and a glass of Guinness!
